This role will primarily undertake functional safety engineering activities under the direction/supervision
of a Senior TS&R Engineer for conceptual & project engineering and feasibility studies within the subsea
engineering sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participating in process HAZOPs and LOPAs.
- The identification of safety requirements for the development of Safety Requirement
- Specifications (SRSs).
- Working with Project and System Engineers to ensure SRS requirements are meet through design.
- Attendance and contribution to design review.
- The creation of Functional Safety Management Plans (FSMPs) in accordance with IEC 61511 / 61508 requirements.
- Able to perform the following tasks to ensure the required Safety Instrumented Function performance requirements are met:
○ Probability of Failure on Demand calculations,
○ Safety Failure Fractions calculations,
○ Hardware Fault Tolerance calculation,
○ Failure Mode Effects and Diagnostic Analysis.
- Defining specifications and assessing components used in design.
- Development of the following deliverables:
○ Safety Analysis Reports / SIL Verification Calculation,
○ Development of Safety Manuals,
○ SIL/None SIL Safety Instrumented Functions.
- Participation in Functional Safety Assessment (FSA) verification activities.
REQUIREMENTS
- Master's or bachelor's degree within a relevant field of engineering.
- Minimum 4 years of functional safety engineering experience across system, subsystem, and product design applications.
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience in the implementation of IEC 61511 & IEC 61508.
- Past experience with HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, Fault Tree Analysis.
- Certified Functional Safety Engineer.
- Experienced in developing Inspection and Test Procedures.
- Experienced in SIS Installation & Commissioning.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Spends 40-60% of time in office environment 40%-60% Work from Home.
- While in a workshop environment, may be exposed or be in proximity to possible shop hazards including high noise level, temperature extremes, welding, high-pressure equipment, chemicals, and shop traffic.
- Job likely to involve travel to Houston, Aberdeen ad Oslo.
- Frequent sitting and operating computer.
