Web Designer / Project-Based

We’re looking for a Web Designer to collaborate with Ajust Design on selected website and digital design projects on a project-based basis.

This is not a full-time role. We’re looking for a reliable, experienced designer who can join projects when needed and support our team in creating thoughtful, elegant, and well-structured website concepts for international clients in private equity, finance, nonprofit, and other business sectors.

Ajust Design is a design and web development studio with headquarters in Chicago and Warsaw. We specialize in corporate branding, websites, and marketing materials for the financial sector and other industries.

Our work combines strategic thinking, design excellence, and technical expertise — helping companies communicate their value, tell complex stories clearly, and build strong, lasting brands.

Your Role

As a Web Designer, you will support our team in creating website concepts, page structures, wireframes, responsive layouts, and design systems for client websites.

You will collaborate with Creative Director, Art Directors, Lead Designers, Project Managers, and developers to turn brand strategy, content, and client goals into clear, visually refined, and functional website experiences.

This role is focused on design thinking, visual concepts, structure, layout, user experience, and accurate handoff to developers. You will not be expected to manage projects or communicate with clients independently unless agreed for a specific project.

What you’ll do

• Develop original website design concepts based on client goals, brand direction, and provided content.

• Create visual directions, moodboards, page concepts, and design systems for websites.

• Prepare wireframes, page structures, and recommendations for content hierarchy, user flow, functionality, and animations.

• Design selected website pages and responsive layouts in Figma.

• Prepare clear design presentations explaining the visual logic, structure, functionality, and user experience behind your concepts.

• Collaborate with Lead Designers, Art Directors, Project Managers, and developers throughout the project.

• Prepare design files for developer handoff, including layout specifications, components, responsive behavior notes, and animation recommendations when needed.

• Support developers during implementation to help ensure the final website reflects the approved design accurately.

• Review implemented pages and provide design feedback during QA.

• Create selected digital assets related to website projects, such as icons, graphics, banners, simple illustrations, or email layouts when needed.

Who we’re looking for

• You have at least 3 years of professional experience in web design, preferably in a design studio, digital agency, branding agency, or B2B-focused creative environment.

• You have a strong portfolio showing website design projects, landing pages, digital layouts, or web-based brand applications.

• You have solid experience working in Figma.

• You understand website structure, responsive design, UI/UX principles, typography, layout, visual hierarchy, and digital design systems.

• You can create thoughtful website concepts, not just decorative layouts.

• You are able to work with existing brand guidelines and translate them into strong digital experiences.

• You understand how designers and developers work together and can prepare clean, organized files for handoff.

• You are detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work independently within agreed project timelines.

• You communicate confidently in English, both written and spoken.

• You are comfortable working remotely and collaborating with an international team.

Nice to have

• Experience designing websites for financial services, private equity, investment, nonprofit, or B2B clients.

• Experience working on corporate websites, investment firm websites, landing pages, or content-heavy websites.

• Experience preparing sitemap, structure, functionality, and animation recommendations.

• Experience creating design presentations with rationale behind visual and UX decisions.

• Experience designing emails or digital marketing assets.

• Basic understanding of HTML/CSS limitations and responsive development logic.

• Experience working with ClickUp or similar project management tools.

Cooperation terms

• Project-based cooperation.

• B2B or contract-based cooperation preferred.

• Hourly rate: 90 PLN net + VAT, depending on experience and project scope. For larger projects, compensation may also be agreed individually based on the estimated workload.

• Workload depends on current project needs and agreed availability.

• Compensation is agreed individually based on project scope, complexity, and timeline.

• This is not a full-time position and does not require daily full-time availability.

• We value designers who are reliable, responsive, and able to meet agreed deadlines.

Work environment

• We work 100% remotely.

• Communication happens mainly through Slack, and projects are managed in ClickUp with support from Project Managers.

• You will collaborate with Creative Director, Art Directors, Lead Designers, Project Managers, and developers.

• Most planning and communication happen during standard working hours, 9:00–18:00 local time, so partial availability during this window is important for project check-ins, reviews, and handoffs.

Important notes

Most of our work is strictly confidential and covered by NDA. Work created for clients belongs to the agency. Selected projects may be used in public portfolios only with prior written approval from the Ajust Design Studio Director.

For selected candidates, we may also suggest a paid test task or a small trial project to evaluate creativity, design thinking, accuracy, communication, and efficiency.

Final selection will be based on portfolio quality, web design experience, visual taste, UX thinking, reliability, communication skills, and overall fit with our workflow.
