Project Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to design, build, and deploy scalable infrastructure with a focus on distributed systems. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and maintaining architectural patterns for data processing, workflow definitions, and system-to-system integrations using Big Data and Cloud technologies
- Translating technical designs into effective solutions and code aligned with industry standards
- Creating reusable components and frameworks
- Building scalable and automated data analysis, modeling, and validation processes
- Collaborating with analysts and data scientists to understand downstream data impacts
- Writing clean, efficient, and well-structured code in a continuous delivery environment
- Promoting best practices in software engineering within the team
- Communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Defining data retention policies
- Monitoring system performance and recommending infrastructure improvements
Must-have skills:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory and Databricks
- 5+ years in data engineering or backend/fullstack development
- Strong SQL skills
- Proficiency in Python scripting
- Experience with data transformation tools (Databricks, Spark)
- Ability to model and structure data in relational and non-relational databases
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Git
Nice-to-have skills:
- Experience with Azure Event Hubs, CosmosDB, Spark Streaming
- Familiarity with Airflow
- Background in the aviation industry or working with Copilot
Soft skills & availability:
- Ready to start immediately or within 4 weeks
- Availability to work between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. CET
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (B2/C1/C2)
