Project Financial Controller (CAPEX & OPEX)
We are looking for an experienced Project Financial Controller to support financial planning, monitoring, and reporting for a large-scale transformation program. The role focuses on CAPEX and OPEX controlling, ensuring accurate financial reporting, budget adherence, and close cooperation with project teams and HQ Finance.
You will play a key role in setting up reporting structures, monitoring actuals versus forecasts, managing contingencies, and presenting financial results to senior stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain project financial reporting structures in the local ERP in line with CAPEX and OPEX categories.
Ensure compliance with internal accounting standards, reporting rules, and approved budgets.
Monitor and control project costs, including purchase orders, actuals, and commitments.
Track internal and external FTE costs and manage cost reallocations between OPEX and CAPEX.
Analyze variances between actuals and forecasts and identify financial risks or gaps.
Monitor contingency usage and challenge expenditures to ensure financial discipline.
Prepare and deliver timely financial reports to project and program stakeholders.
Present financial status and insights in Program and Steering Committee meetings.
Reforecast project CAPEX and OPEX, including cost phasing and financial impact analysis.
Cooperate closely with HQ Finance and project teams to support decision-making and reporting.
Requirements:
Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
Proven experience in project controlling, financial controlling, or program finance, ideally in an international environment.
Strong knowledge of CAPEX & OPEX management, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Hands-on experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
Strong analytical skills and ability to challenge financial assumptions.
Experience presenting financial data to senior stakeholders and governance bodies.
Very good English.
