Opis stanowiska

As a Senior UI/UX Designer within the Digital Cockpit group, you will help shape user-centric experiences for next-generation in-vehicle systems—including Android Automotive OS, digital clusters, audio systems, AI-powered cabin interfaces, and ADAS visualizations. You’ll also support the UX/UI design of software toolchains, including audio tuning tools and middleware configuration interfaces used by global OEMs and development teams.

The ideal candidate blends a passion for design and human-centered innovation with the technical fluency to thrive in a fast-paced automotive technology environment. This individual will not only create, prototype, and validate compelling user experiences—they will also oversee external design vendors and collaborate with UX research partners

YOUR ROLE

  • Design Vision: Create intuitive, innovative user interfaces and workflows for in-vehicle digital cockpit components—cluster HMI, Android Automotive, driver and cabin monitoring systems, voice interaction systems, and ADAS visual cues.

  • Tooling UX: Lead design and usability efforts for internal software tools, including middleware configuration platforms and audio system tuning suites

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with software engineers, product managers, system architects, and embedded systems teams to deliver designs that are both aesthetically compelling and technically feasible

  • Vendor Oversight: Manage and guide external UI/UX design firms to ensure consistency with Aptiv’s brand, usability standards, and performance KPIs

  • UX Research Engagement: Collaborate with research partners to define study parameters, analyze user feedback, and apply insights into iterative design

  • Design Systems: Contribute to and help evolve Aptiv’s global design language and UX guidelines in-vehicle experiences, and system design tools.

(Some international travel will be required for collaboration with partners and internal teams).

YOUR BACKGROUND

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Graphic/Interaction Design, Computer Science, or related field

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in UX/UI design, ideally within automotive, embedded systems, or complex user interface ecosystems

  • Strong portfolio showcasing UI designs, interactive prototypes, and documentation for multimodal user experiences (touch, voice, haptic, visual)

  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe CC, Axure, Sketch, and relevant prototyping software

  • Solid understanding of accessibility, responsive design, and UX for embedded/HMI systems

  • Experience working with external vendors and research agencies is a strong plus

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills in a cross-functional environment
