Our client - an international media publisher that creates world-class video content for social media, is searching for Legal Counsel experienced in the US operations.

About the Company:

It's a Digital Media Publisher that creates world-class video content. The company produces and develops projects around the world, making history in the global media market and developing online content in 7 different languages since 2016. 

The goal of the company is to become the number 1 digital publisher of short videos in the world, and they are already in the 2d position on Facebook! The company creates videos with 7+ billion monthly views on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and TikTok and has already reached over 245 million subscribers on social media.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Provide full legal support for the companys projects and processes; handle high-level tasks independently; work autonomously on key projects; mentor less-experienced legal colleagues
• Fully support doing business in the US and ensure its compliance with the applicable laws & regulations (including corporate, commercial, contractual, tax, labour, IP, compliance matters). (External local advisors are engaged for specific issues)
• Provide legal support of other group companies in different jurisdictions (i.e., Cyprus (EU), BVI, UK); deal with cross-border corporate restructurings, etc
• Legally maintain activity on social media platforms and video production activities
• Provide support on employment and freelance engagement issues, advise the HR team
• Provide legal support for the groups financial and tax operations
• Work with contracts (analysis, preparation, updating of internal and foreign economic contracts, support for the conclusion of contracts).
• Monitor current legislation, changes and updates, draft regulations under consideration, etc., for compliance and business planning purposes
• Coordinate with the companys agents, service providers, contractors, etc

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of dynamic legal experience in a reputable law firm or as an in-house lawyer; experience in the IT, digital, or media sectors is a plus
• Proven experience in conducting business in the United States (Delaware and other states) is required
• Ability to work according to US (likely California) business hours, either consistently or with availability for frequent urgent tasks
• Strong expertise in corporate, commercial, contractual, and labor law, as well as supporting cross-border economic activities; experience in tax and intellectual property (IP) matters is an advantage
• Excellent business correspondence and negotiation skills
• Highly responsible, independent, proactive, result- and growth-oriented, with a keen eye for detail
• Fluent English proficiency, including business and legal vocabulary, both written and spoken
