Slack Platform Architect

We are launching an initiative to professionalize, streamline, and prepare an existing Slack environment for future expansion across multiple organizations. While the current Slack ecosystem is already operational, it requires structural, organizational, and technical optimization to ensure scalability, governance compliance, and long-term sustainability.

The initial project phase focuses on a comprehensive assessment, conceptual design of the target setup, and implementation of selected quick wins (e.g., SSO integration, automation improvements) that deliver immediate business value and establish the foundation for a secure and scalable collaboration environment.|

Your skills & experience

• Proven experience administering and optimizing Slack environments (Slack Enterprise Grid experience is a plus).

• Strong understanding of security, governance, and IAM/SSO concepts.

• Experience working with SaaS integrations and workflow automation.

• Ability to analyze IT environments and prepare structured technical documentation and recommendations.

• Experience in collaboration platform optimization or digital workplace transformation projects.

• Professional English skills in an international work environment.

Your role

1. Slack Environment Analysis

• Conduct a comprehensive audit of the current Slack setup, including workspace structure, channel organization, naming conventions, user roles, and permission models.

• Review existing integrations, applications, workflows, and security configurations.

• Identify gaps, redundancies, potential security risks, and opportunities for optimization.

• Deliver structured analysis reports with clear findings and prioritized recommendations.

2. Administration & Security Activities

• Perform administrative tasks to maintain a stable, secure, and compliant Slack environment.

• Configure user access, Slack Connect settings, roles, and permissions according to governance and security standards.

• Optimize security settings, compliance controls, and approval workflows.

• Manage and improve existing integrations, apps, and automations aligned with business needs.

• Prepare the environment for SSO and IAM enhancements (Google and Microsoft / Entra ID).

3. Optimization & Continuous Improvement

• Implement structural improvements such as workspace cleanup, channel consolidation, and standardized naming conventions.

• Enhance Slack features (Workflow Builder, admin policies, integrations) to increase collaboration efficiency.

• Support the creation and rollout of governance policies, templates, and best practices.

• Ensure scalability of the Slack environment for onboarding additional companies.

• Document implemented changes and prepare updated configuration and governance materials.
