Braiding & Assembly Technician

We are looking for a Braiding & Assembly Technician with excellent manual skills and a keen eye for precision assembly to join our Actuation Team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about robotics, design, willing to push the boundaries of science, and supporting R&D in emerging hardware technologies. You'll work on assembling next-generation motion components and help shape core elements of our proprietary biomechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision assembly of soft actuation components using flexible tubing, braiding sleeves, and custom parts
• Operate manual and semi-automated braiding tools
• Follow technical instructions and documentation to ensure quality and repeatability
• Collaborate closely with engineers to iterate and refine actuator builds
• Maintain tools and workspace, including minor adjustments and troubleshooting
• Track materials, inventory, and assist in logistics related to the assembly workflow

Requirements

• Excellent manual dexterity and focus – experience with fine assembly (e.g., electronics, textiles, jewelry, instrumentation)
• Ability to follow step-by-step instructions with high repeatability
• Strong attention to detail and visual inspection skills
• Responsibility for keeping the assembly space clean, organized, and well-stocked, including support for basic logistics (materials prep, tool readiness, labeling)
• Good communication skills and comfort in a fast-moving R&D environment
• Fluent in technical English (reading instructions and communicating with engineers)

Nice to Have

• Polish (spoken)
• Ability to create technical reports with the help of tools like Excel or equivalents
• Willingness to adapt and learn due to the constantly changing environment of production and methods
• Experience with braiding machines, sewing, weaving, or composite materials
• Prior work in robotics, medical devices, textiles, or soft structures
• Familiarity with pneumatic systems or flexible actuators
