Hull Struc­tural Designer

Always finding the right experts for every challenge - that's our goal at FERCHAU, which is why we are looking for you: a skilled Hull Structural Design Engineer to join our team, with opportunities in basic design, detailed design, or a hybrid role. You will contribute to the development of structural solutions for vessels, working on technically advanced projects in the maritime sector.

Your responsibilities

• Develop basic and/or detailed structural designs for ship hulls in accordance with building specifications and class requirements

• Create and modify hull structure plans

• Propose optimal technical solutions based on issued documentation, project requirements, and supplier specifications

• Conduct structural analysis and simulations to ensure design reliability

• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure cohesive and manufacturable solutions

• Deliver high-quality technical drawings, reports, and documentation in line with QA/QC standards, project timelines, and contractual obligations

• Support integration of designs across systems and departments

• Ensure compliance with classification society rules and relevant regulations

What we expect of you

• Proven experience as a marine structural designer or hull designer

• Degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field

• Strong hands-on experience in designing ship structures and hulls

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and at least one of CADMATIC, NAPA, or Foran is required, as we are involved in a wide range of projects

• Solid understanding of ship technical systems, construction standards, and regulatory/classification requirements

• Experience with class drawings is a strong asset
