Senior / Lead Production Engineer - Offshore & Steel Structures

FERCHAU Poland is looking for a Senior/ Lead Production Engineer to contribute to shipbuilding and offshore projects. In this role, you will work close to production, taking responsibility for translating technical concepts into practical and efficient manufacturing solutions. Depending on your experience, you will either contribute as a senior specialist or take the lead on technological decisions and process planning.

Your responsibilities:

• Analyze technical documentation and assess manufacturability of steel structures

• Define and develop production methods, sequences and technological processes

• Prepare and issue technological documentation (work instructions, process sheets, production guidelines)

• Support production in resolving technical issues and ensuring correct implementation of processes

• Coordinate and monitor execution of tasks within the production and engineering teams

• Cooperate with design, production and external partners to ensure technical alignment

• Contribute to production planning, including workflow definition and scheduling

• Participate in cost estimation by defining key technological assumptions and, for senior level, estimating workload

• Identify production risks (e.g. welding access, deformation, assembly constraints) and propose practical solutions

• Analyze root causes of quality issues and implement corrective actions

• Ensure compliance with internal procedures and quality standards

  
  For Lead level additionally:

• Define overall technological approach for projects and act as a key technical decision-maker

• Coordinate and support the work of other engineers within the team

• Drive optimization of production processes and technological documentation

• Act as the main point of contact for complex technical topics (including client communication if needed)
  
  Your profile:

• Degree in engineering (shipbuilding, mechanical, civil engineering or similar)

• Solid experience in production engineering / technology related to steel structures (min. 5 years for senior level)

• Strong understanding of fabrication processes (cutting, welding, assembly, prefabrication)

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation

• Experience in offshore, shipbuilding, wind energy or heavy steel structures is an advantage

• Practical approach to solving production and manufacturing challenges

• Experience in production planning and use of planning tools

• Good level of English (working with documentation and communication)

• Ability to work independently and coordinate tasks within a team

• Experience in leading or coordinating technical activities within projects

• Ability to define production concepts and technological approaches
