Ship Designer (Outfitting or Machinery)

Connecting people and technologies. Finding the perfect match for our customers. Always finding the right experts for every challenge - that's our goal at FERCHAU. We are looking for a Ship Designer to design outfitting or systems within engine rooms for our client in shipbuilding industry.

Tasks:

• Creation of detailed 3D models of deck outfitting (anchor winches, mooring winches, watertight doors, hatches, etc.) or systems within engine rooms
• Preparation of design and construction documentation for both repaired and newly built vessels, including arrangements, isometric drawings, and BOMs
• Quality assurance of drawings and ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
• Close cooperation with specialists from various disciplines to ensure integrated project execution
• Analysis and interpretation of regulations set by Classification Societies to ensure compliance with relevant standards and requirements during ship design, construction, and repair processes

Requirements:

• At least 1 year of experience in shipbuilding design, for example with anchor winches, mooring winches, engine rooms, main and auxiliary systems, watertight doors, hatches, etc.
• Technical education (preferably in marine engineering or mechanical engineering)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office software
• Knowledge of English at a communicative level (B1/B2)
• Extensive experience in developing and managing technical and construction documentation
• Willingness to onboard within the first three months onsite in Gdynia, with a hybrid working mode afterward

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with FORAN software for ship design and engineering
