Trade compliance specialist

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with global trade laws, regulations, and sanctions in import and export operations.
• Monitor regulatory changes related to tariffs and sanctions, keeping stakeholders informed.
• Act as the organization's trade compliance expert.
• Collaborate with legal, finance, and supply chain teams to ensure adherence to compliance standards.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions for trade compliance issues.
• Monitor sanctions and embargo lists to avoid engagement with restricted entities or countries.
• Identify and mitigate risks in transportation and trade compliance, including ESG factors (e.g., CBAM, EUDR).
• Participate in internal and external audits or assessments, ensuring prompt resolution of findings.
• Ensure suppliers and logistics partners comply with the organization's trade requirements through due diligence and regular reviews.
• Maintain accurate ERP master data for goods classification, duties, and tariffs.

Experience and Personal Competencies

• Minimum of 2+ years of operational experience in a relevant position, with a solid understanding of the end-to-end supply chain process.
• In-depth knowledge of export control, trade compliance, and risk management.
• A Master’s degree in Business, Law, Supply Chain Compliance, or a related field in Trade Management is an advantage.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally and effectively collaborate with employees of diverse skill sets.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience working with ERP systems.
• Strong data analysis skills, including proficiency in MS Excel and Power BI.
• Very good command of written and spoken English.
