Public Relations Leader, Communication, INGKA Group, Service Office in Janki/Warsaw

We work across dozen different areas, jointly supporting the everyday operation of IKEA stores. We are responsible e.g. for the preparation and implementation of national strategies and adaptation of global ones, the introduction of new tools, as well as the implementation of national and international projects. An experienced, yet eager to constantly learn and relearn, communication professional, who appreciates strategic thinking and planning, yet enjoys turning ideas into concrete, hands on actions.

You should be passionate about Life at Home, sustainability and understand how businesses can contribute to society, be proficient in fields of communication & understand digital trends. A perfect candidate for the role feels at easy with creating engaging communication and working with the media (traditional, digital and social) and managing relations with diverse groups of stakeholders, both when he or she works with a privilege to sufficient time to plan and execute and while under stress in challenging or crisis situations. You are a team worker, but are able to work independently and lead projects.

REQUIREMENTS:

·       minimum of 6-8 years of experience in strategic communication, media relations, social media/influencer communication and crisis communication

·       proven experience in managing communication projects in a complex environment, involving many stakeholders and external agency partners

·       deep knowledge of how to lead communication by defining, planning, executing and follow-up communication to relevant stakeholders

·       up-to-date knowledge of the complete media landscape (including social media), usage and measurements

·       excellent communication skills both in English and in Polish

·       interest in home furnishing, passion for sustainability, knowledge of IKEA brand, culture and values

In addition to this you demonstrate strong IKEA leadership skills, by using sound judgements to make timely and effective decisions with the ability to understand the complexity of Ingka & IKEA business and the role of communication as an integrated part of the business. Your interpersonal skills and capability to manage internal and external stakeholders are excellent, and your ability to communicate verbally, visually and in writing in an inspirational way with IKEA tone of voice. You know how to take a leading role in communication with the business goal, co-workers and public trust in focus and comfortably handle stressful and unpredictable situations in a dynamic business environment.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

You enable INGKA to promote and protect the IKEA brand through effective media and stakeholder relations. You lead the country PR/Media Relations of Ingka to contribute to the purpose of the function by leading, steering and ensuring the implementation of the strategy for product and corporate PR and Media relations - in line with the country business & growth plan. Further, you secure that Media Relations are an integrated part in campaigns and have close cooperation with the other parts of the communication team, as well as with Marketing and other functions.

You drive activist and pro-activist communication through Media Relations in the market and lead in demonstrating leadership when IKEA is challenged as well as drive an open and sharing climate, being a role model of the IKEA values where our co-workers are informed, engaged and empower.

YOU WILL:

·       enable Ingka to promote and protect the IKEA brand through effective media and influencers’ relationships in close cooperation with other relevant functions

·       drive reactive, proactive and activist communication externally through media & strategic influencers relationships

·       be responsible to create the country product and corporate PR/media relations strategy (focus on earned and owned media): create media/stakeholder engagement strategies for effective reactive, proactive and activist communication

·       be responsible for developing and implementing process for country on-duty phone and product loans

·       stay up-to-date on current affairs in order to create opportunities to position our stories in a way that resonates with the outside world

·       identify and empower IKEA leaders to be inspiring communicators – train and support spokespersons on delivering effective and appropriate communication, act as spokesperson yourself when appropriate. Develop and implement spokesperson plans to support focus areas and prioritized topics.

·       develop and strengthen communication preparedness for reputational issues, risks and crisis.

·       be a coach and sparring partner to managers and communication team when it comes to Public and Media Relations

In this role you will report to the Country Communication Manager.

This role is located in Service Office Janki, but it is possible to work in blended model of work.
