Head of Strategic Procurement (m/f/d) – Protein & Packaging

Do you know the protein industry like the back of your hand—from whey protein to bars to functional drinks? Do you have strong supplier relationships, a track record of successful high-level negotiations, and know how to manage risks and develop supplier strategies? Then you've come to the right place! We are looking for an experienced purchasing manager (m/f/d) to develop our purchasing activities strategically and operationally – with a deep understanding of FMCG, food & nutrition, excellent market knowledge, and a keen sense for quality, costs, and speed.

Strategic & Leadership Responsibilities 

• Build and continously develop a high-performing procurement department 

• Define and implement category strategies with a focus on protein and whey raw materials 

• Develop and execute risk management and dual-sourcing strategies

• Collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Sales and Product Development to ensure price and supply stability

• Establish and maintain international supplier relationships

• Representant at trade fairs, audits and meetings with key suppliers 

Operational & Execution Excellence

• Lead high-volume contract negotiations and manage investment decisions

• Oversee sourcing processes, price benchmarking and supplier performance management

• Ensure availability, quality and time-to-market 

• Monitor stock levels and align forecasts with Supply Chain Management 

• Analyze sales, product and market trends to optimize procurement strategies

• Enhance procurement tools and SAP processes

Your skillset - as strong as our protein

• Degree in Business Administration, Economics or a related commercial field

• Several years of professional experience in the procurement of protein, whey or other food products

• In-depth category and supplier knowledge in the Nutrition/Food Ingredients sector

• Proven negotiation skills and contract success

• Experience with whey proteins and functional foods

• Expertise in risk management and dual-soourcing strategies

• Proficient in SAP

• Fluent in English, German is a plus

• Strog analytical, strategic and results-driven mindset 

• Excellent communicatio, negotiation and leadership skills
