About Slash

Slash is building the future of business banking, one industry at a time. We believe businesses deserve financial infrastructure tailored to how they actually operate. That's why we're creating a new category of business banking. We combine the reliability of traditional banking (high yields, competitive rewards, and comprehensive security) with industry-specific features that make businesses more efficient, more competitive, and more profitable.

Started in 2021, Slash is one of the fastest growing fintechs in the world and we power over three billion dollars a year in business purchasing across numerous industries. We're backed by some of the best investors in the world including Menlo Ventures, NEA, Y Combinator, Stanford University, and the founders of Tinder and Plaid. Slash is headquartered in San Francisco, and has a strong in-person culture.

We’re growing fast and are looking for sharp, detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team!

About the role

As a Senior Accountant at Slash, you will collaborate closely with the Controller to ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain regulatory compliance, and manage financial data with efficiency. Your responsibilities will include financial recordkeeping, account reconciliation, and audit support, all while upholding the highest standards of accuracy and transparency. Your contributions will be instrumental in helping the company navigate its financial operations and maintain regulatory integrity as we continue to scale.

Additional Information:

This position is fully remote, with a strong preference for candidates based in Poznań to allow for occasional in-person collaboration. Some weekdays will require late evening availability (6-8 PM CET) for meetings and to respond to inquiries from our San Francisco-based headquarters. Travel to San Francisco may be required 1-2 times per year.

What you’ll be doing:

  1. Maintain accurate financial recordkeeping by tracking transactions, updating financial records, and ensuring proper general ledger entries.

  2. Reconcile bank statements to internal records, identifying and resolving discrepancies to ensure accuracy.

  3. Manage accounts payable and receivable by processing invoices, monitoring due dates, and reconciling balances.

  4. Support and analyze key financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to support decision-making.

  5. Track and maintain records of company assets, ensuring proper fixed asset accounting and compliance.

  6. Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to audit inquiries.

  7. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, including adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and assist in implementing best practices for financial reporting.

We’re looking for someone who:

  1. Has strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

  2. Is proficient in accounting software and comfortable using financial tools

  3. Possesses a solid understanding of basic accounting principles

  4. Demonstrates strong analytical skills and the ability to identify discrepancies

  5. Holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, or relevant certifications in Finance or Accounting

  6. Has 3+ years of professional experience in accounting or finance

  7. Is capable of maintaining accurate financial records and reconciling accounts

  8. Can manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment

  9. Shows a commitment to learning and growth in the field of accounting

Bonus points for

  1. Previous experience in the accounting field within the fintech or payments industry

  2. Background in working with early-stage, high-growth companies

What's in it for You:

  1. Opportunity to learn and grow in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

  2. There is an exciting opportunity for career growth into roles such as Data Analyst or Assistant Controller, depending on the company’s growth trajectory and individual performance.
