Position: Chief Accountant

What will you do?

As our Chief Accountant, you’ll be the guardian of our numbers, the architect of efficient processes, and a trusted partner to the leadership team — making sure our financial engine is precise, powerful, and ready to scale across Europe.

As our Chief Accountant, you will:

• lead and oversee the company’s full internal accounting function - including statutory books for a joint-stock company (Spółka Akcyjna), using Enova for bookkeeping

• prepare statutory and management financial statements - balance sheets, P&L statements, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, etc.

• manage relationships with tax authorities, ZUS, and other relevant institutions

• ensure proper document workflow and compliance with applicable systems and regulations e.g., KSeF, JPK CIT

• deliver accurate management reports, cash flow analyses, and financial forecasts to support decision‑making

• monitor compliance with Polish accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies

• oversee and advise on cross‑border VAT settlements to support the commercial team with correct VAT treatment of transactions

• coordinate statutory audits and liaise with external auditors, advisors, and consultants

• lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement

Requirements

Ideally, you'll bring with you:

• approx. 10 years of professional experience in accounting, including at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership role

• proven track record in managing accounting for a joint‑stock company

• proven track record in preparing statutory and management reports

• strong knowledge of Polish accounting standards, tax regulations, and cross‑border VAT rules

• hands‑on experience with Enova or comparable ERP/accounting systems

• experience in cross‑border transactions, including VAT compliance, settlements, and related advisory

• strong analytical skills

• the ability to translate financial data into business insights

• excellent organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage a high‑performing team

• proficiency in English (min. C1)
