Your role

Our documentation portal is critical to our success, enabling developers, integrators, and business users to understand, adopt, and maximize the value of Uploadcare. 

We are looking for an experienced Senior Technical Writer to own and elevate our documentation experience end-to-end.

What you’ll do

• Own the Uploadcare Documentation Portal: Develop, maintain, and continuously improve all technical documentation, ensuring it is clear, accurate, comprehensive, and user-friendly.

• Collaborate with engineering: Work closely with developers, product managers, and support teams to understand technical features and translate them into documentation that accelerates user adoption.

• Integrate marketing alignment: Ensure documentation aligns with product positioning, go-to-market narratives, and key messaging to deliver a seamless product-to-content experience.

• Drive information architecture improvements: Audit and redesign documentation structure, navigation, and content taxonomy for intuitive user journeys.

• Establish documentation standards and processes: Define best practices, templates, and guidelines to ensure consistent, high-quality content across the portal.

• Champion the user: Advocate for clarity, simplicity, and developer-first communication,making complex concepts accessible to diverse audiences.

• Lead strategic documentation projects: From guides, API references, and SDK walkthroughs to integration tutorials and onboarding experiences.

• Maintain integration and package documentation: Keep READMEs and related docs up to date across Uploadcare’s integration repositories (e.g., Python, Ruby, PHP) and ensure Uploadcare pages on package management websites (npm, pip, RubyGems, etc.) are current, accurate, and reflect the latest product capabilities.

• Measure and improve: Define and track KPIs such as documentation usage, user feedback, and time-to-success to continuously optimize content effectiveness.

  
  

What you bring

• 5+ years in technical writing or developer documentation roles, with a portfolio showcasing clear, structured, and impactful work.

• Comfortable owning an entire docs portal, including structure, standards, tooling, and content roadmap.

• Technically proficient, able to read code samples, test APIs, understand SDKs, and collaborate effectively with engineers.

• Proficient with GitHub.

• Good knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

• Adept at translating complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and engaging content for varied audiences.

• Thriving in cross-functional environments, aligning with Product, Engineering, and Marketing to achieve shared goals.

• Skilled in building scalable documentation processes and systems.

• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
