Finance and Accounting Specialist

Introduction

The consultant is to provide Financial Support Services at SHAPE to assist with the activities conducted within the FINAC Division, ACO Corporate Accounting and Control (CAC) Branch.

Skills, knowledge, experience required:

• University level education in the related subject field of requested activities and past experience of at least 3 years in the related professional setting;
• At least 2 years of professional experience in accounting, including accounting in foreign currencies, managing and controlling administrative expenses and cost/budget control experience;
• Bookkeeping and/or financial analysis within private/public organization;
• Very strong technical (both accounting and system/process) and data analysis skills;
• Demonstrable record of implementing the highest standards of financial control and compliance;
• Understands and implements accrual accounting and related accounting standards such as IFRS or IPSAS;
• Knowledge of Oracle E-Business Suite 12 Financials and familiarity with other Oracle E-Business Suite 12 modules;
• Writing and reporting skills, attention to details, deadline-oriented, general math skills
• Strong experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and advanced knowledge of spreadsheet, database packages, flowchart;

Duties/role:

• Performing routine duties within assigned segment of cash management and accounting, working in accordance with prescribed procedures and under supervision;
• Checking and verifying data received for completeness and accuracy and notify supervisor of discrepancies;
• Sorting, matching and processing documents in accordance with established procedures;
