Art Director – 3D Animated Feature Film

Wojan Studio is building a new animation division focused on creating high-quality family entertainment for global audiences.

We are currently looking for an experienced Art Director to define and lead the visual development of our upcoming 3D animated feature film.

This is a unique opportunity to join a project at an early stage and help shape its artistic identity from the ground up. You will work closely with directors, producers, storytellers, and artists to create a distinctive visual world that supports memorable characters and compelling storytelling.

This role is based in Warsaw, Poland and requires regular on-site collaboration with the creative team.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the artistic vision of a 3D animated feature film.

• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of artists, including Concept Artists, Environment Artists, Animators, Lighting Artists, and Visual Development Artists.

• Establish visual direction through concept art, mood boards, color scripts, visual research, and reference materials.

• Collaborate closely with the Director, Creative Director, Producers, and Department Leads to ensure a consistent artistic vision throughout production.

• Review artistic work, provide feedback, and support the growth of team members.

• Participate in key creative decisions regarding characters, environments, lighting, color, cinematography, and visual storytelling.

• Ensure consistency, quality, and artistic excellence across all visual aspects of the project.

• Oversee visual development and artistic quality from pre-production through final delivery.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as an Art Director within animation, film, television, or games.

• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary art teams and establishing visual direction for stylized productions.

• Strong understanding of the full 3D animation pipeline, from visual development and pre-production through final production.

• Demonstrated passion for animated storytelling aimed at children and family audiences.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and presentation skills.

• Professional working proficiency in English.

Nice to Have

• Experience working on animated feature films, animated series, or high-end game cinematics.

• Credits on at least one released animated feature, series, cinematic production, or comparable large-scale visual project in a senior artistic role.

• Strong foundation in traditional art, concept art, visual development, or digital painting.
