Project Overview

Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company have partnered to deliver the first nuclear power reactors in Poland for our customer, the Polish Entity Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ). Bechtel will be the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project. As the EPC contractor, our responsibilities will include providing the design for the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant as well as the construction of the entire facility.

Position Summary:

The Senior Electrical Designer will be responsible for raceway design, equipment location and layout, C&R schedule inputting and update using Setroute, conduit and raceway design. Responsible to produce lower and higher tier drawings and documentation in accordance with established conceptual design and scope, modelling, including cable pull calculations, design of lighting using AGi32, grounding layout, grounding designs/calculations and lightning protection systems. Develops specifications for equipment and material where deviation from standard documentation is required.

Position Overview

• As a Senior Mechanical Drafter, you will support design development of Mechanical Systems and equipment for the Poland Nuclear Project.
• Upon initial hire and onboarding, the position will require full time presence in the Warsaw execution office.
• Part-Time telework flexibility may be an option as the project progresses.

Responsibilities

• Prepare 2-D CAD Intelligent Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) based on sketches and engineering redlines.
• Provide assistance and/or training to other drafters, if necessary.
• Review/check models, drawings, and documents prepared by others to ensure incorporation of drafting standards, procedures, discipline standards, and other national standards, as required.
• Responsible for data integrity of model information.
• Point of contact for support and troubleshooting of P&IDs and associated databases for line, equipment, valve, and component information.
• Design Building Information Modeling (BIM) and coordination with other disciplines.
• Execute schedule requirements while maintaining a high degree of quality in work product.

Qualifications and Skills

Basic Qualifications:

• AA/AS Degree Equivalence (Vocational/Technical School) with 10 years of related design experience, or 14 years of related design experience in lieu of degree.
• Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Must be authorized to live and work in Poland without sponsorship.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience in reading/interpreting/drafting P&IDs and incorporating complex redline changes into the drawings.
• Experience in working with equipment, line, valve, and in-line component lists and associated data.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office software.
• Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards.
• Prior experience with industry-wide design/drafting tools such as AutoCAD, Bentley MicroStation, PDS2D, PDS3D, Smartplant P&ID and associate component databases.
• Experience working in a project team environment to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Excellent oral and written communication, planning, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with intelligent P&IDs.
• Experience with SmartPlant P&ID.
