Junior Data Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Collaborate with the data team and business to build scalable pipelines for both structured and unstructured data,
• Work closely with your team to define and implement a technical stack strategy, ensuring continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) practices are upheld,
• Maintain and optimize existing datasets and pipelines to serve a wider range of use cases,
• Work together to help upskill your colleagues in these areas,
• Contribute to the creation of robust, reliable, and relevant datasets to enable intelligent analytics,
• Actively participate in our community of data engineers.

EXPECTATIONS:

• Strong command of Python and familiarity with data processing language,
• Technical curiosity and enthusiasm for learning,
• Understanding of the data life cycle, data lineage, data governance, and data privacy concepts,
• Proficiency in English, enabling effective communication with customers and partners,
• An agile and collaborative mindset, including experience with tools like GitHub, QA, and Mob programming,
• Proficiency in Python and SQL is a must,
• Experience with AWS Big Data components, including Redshift, and S3,
• Exposure to Apache Spark (PySpark/Scala) for data processing,
• Knowledge about data types used in pipelines and houses,
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Airflow, Github Actions,
• Understanding the process of migrating legacy applications and pipelines to the current technology stack.

NICE-TO-HAVE:

• Experience with additional technologies such as DataBricks, Google GCP environment (BigQuery), R (OpenR), Bash, AWS cli, network computing.
