Sr. Data Center Technician (Ops), Remote Sites Management


Job Summary:  

 

Equinix Metal, a leading bare metal cloud provider, is seeking a Data Center Technician within the Metal Data Center Operations team. Joining our operations team means that you will be at the forefront of all we do, maintaining critical facilities infrastructure as part of a close-knit team delivering best-in-class service to our customers.

Responsibilities: 

 

  • Program Management: Effective management of third-party partners program to ensure successful completion of daily tasks in unstaffed locations across EMEA. This work would include:
  • Troubleshooting physical server hardware and network devices.
  • Adding incremental rack-level infrastructure (servers and switches).
  • Expansion of the footprint in new locations.
  • The creation of clear and concise SOWs (Scope of Work).
  • Responsible for first response and proper escalation of data center events that relate to power, network, or cooling.

 

 

Qualifications: 


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a caged data center environment.
  • A track record of successfully managing projects from initiation to completion.
  • In-depth knowledge of data center infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling systems.
  • Familiarity with data center best practices and industry standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across multiple geographies.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical issues, troubleshoot problems, and propose innovative solutions.
  • Strong decision-making and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Familiarity with data center compliance requirements, security protocols, and risk management practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing requirements.
