Your career opportunity

The position involves being a Treasury Risk subject matter expert and serving as a Senior Business Analyst in the Treasury Risk workstream. This workstream focuses on establishing a Treasury Risk stewardship function that oversees all Treasury Risks. The goal is to collaborate with Group businesses and functions, responding dynamically to internal and external changes, and utilizing advanced analytic tools to enhance risk management decisions. Senior Business Analysts play a central role in shaping initiation activities and defining operating models, ensuring effective change delivery in collaboration with delivery partners. The primary responsibilities include managing and executing analysis activities in priority programs, leading teams in Requirements Management, Design, Change Management, and Implementation Management during project delivery. Senior Business Analysts often serve as experts across multiple projects, guiding teams in their approach to Requirements Management and other analysis activities.


The role involves working in Risk and Compliance Transformation (RCT), overseeing the Change the Bank investment portfolio and associated transformation activities for the global Risk and Compliance function. Responsible for the global change agenda, RCT delivers mandatory/regulatory and strategic change programs in collaboration with regional teams and to meet business partner control requirements. The role encompasses designing, leading, and implementing large-scale, complex global changes across multiple regions and jurisdictions. This includes changes to systems, people, and processes, ensuring adherence to HSBC's change standards and utilizing mandated tools and methods.



What you’ll do

  • Identify and analyse complex team problems, offering practical and creative solutions through leading brainstorming sessions for resolution.
  • Question the current state, aiding stakeholders in recognizing improvement opportunities.
  • Establish effective working relationships with analysis and design teams in delivery partners and external collaborators.
  • Coordinate requirements gathering, documentation, prioritization, and traceability across multiple program teams and senior stakeholders, breaking down requirements into detailed elements and translating them for delivery partners.
  • Challenge requirements, designing innovative business solutions to meet agreed-upon goals.
  • Support the business assessment of current operating models, translating strategy into target models, considering impacts on customers, products/services, organization, people, processes, technology, and other key factors.
  • Document and develop targeted benefits for change interventions.
  • Architect complex, large-scale change solutions, detailing the entire change journey and audience impacts.
  • Lead change implementation activities, guiding the team and providing regular updates to stakeholders while managing process re-engineering within change efforts. You offer detailed guidance on process design, considering risk, end-to-end processes, and cost. You manage responsibilities, objectives, and task allocations for large projects or programs.


What you need to have to succeed in this role

  • Proficient in Treasury Risk and Change Frameworks, including Agile methodologies.
  • Experienced in re-engineering, advanced business analysis, requirements gathering, and design techniques.
  • Demonstrates a track record in Treasury Risk or Treasury Risk Transformation.
  • Possesses extensive financial services industry knowledge with specific functional expertise.
  • Skilled in using various analysis techniques in change environments.
  • Successfully delivers and manages change in diverse banking environments.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiating skills.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experienced in managing large remote teams.
  • Proven ability to work globally and cross-regionally.
  • Accomplished in collaborating with senior stakeholders and sponsors.
  • Expertise in Agile methodologies, Delivery at Pace, Business Analysis & Design, Managing Change and Implementation, Process Re-engineering, Problem Solving, and Critical Thinking.
