Your career opportunity
The role is based in the Global Finance Centre in Krakow, Poland. The centre is supporting the development of the businesses across the European region. The centre covers all finance functions including Business Finance, Financial Control and Systems.
What you’ll do
- Review of financial, and regulatory reporting returns at a branch and entity level.
- Manage the review and approval of financial accounting journals & adjustments across all Ireland entities (e.g. accounting adjustments), ensure no required adjustments are overlooked.
- Accountable for the quality of financial and analysis provided for multiple regions and/or entities.
- Responsible for dealing with ad hoc reporting requests from various stakeholders.
- Manage the audit process with External Auditors for subsidiary financial statements through regular updates with Senior Managers. Ensure that planned progress remains on track throughout the process in order to achieve deadlines. Monitor any audit issues arising and manage process for resolution providing support and guidance to Finance teams and Business departments.
- Manage period end close process as allocated to the team including: post approved complex financial accounting adjustments into the relevant accounting/finance systems, review and challenge Balance Sheet substantiation documentation.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- Qualified accountant or relevant university degree.
- Professional qualifications (CIMA/ACCA) will be an asset.
- At least 5 years of experience in a professional work environment (ideally Financial Services or Banking).
- In-depth knowledge of financial principles (IFRS), financial accounting and control.
- Good understanding of the banking products.
- Knowledge of statutory and financial reporting regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills as the team will need to liaise effectively with other teams in other countries.
- Experience in making decision regarding the accounting/control matters.
