The Group Wholesale Impairment and Stress Testing team, part of Wholesale Credit Risk Management function, is responsible for the measurement, management, calculation, controls and governance of IFRS9 Expected Credit Loss (ECL) reserves for the group-wide Wholesale portfolio (EAD >$1.6tn). We collaborate with Risk and Finance functions across all regions (80+ sites) and lead the review and challenge of Wholesale ECL impairments. The team has oversight of the 400+ Sox controls that are operated in the end-to-end IFRS9 process, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to continuously monitor, challenge and improve the control environment. The team also has additional responsibilities for second line review of regulatory stress testing and climate risk stress testing. The team is located across London, Edinburgh, Poland, Bangalore and Chennai
What you’ll do
- Deliver business initiatives to adopt new tooling solutions and techniques to support Impairment Reporting, analytics, forecast and other related credit risk processes. Maintain and improve the ECL simulation tools to support ECL forecasting, judgements and stress testing activities.
- Manage backlog and deliver methodology and functionality enhancements to simulation tools, including improvements to both front and back ends.
- Review ECL impact for regional and group processes including managing stakeholders.
- Support analysis of simulations and other results and present to senior stakeholders including tool training where needed.
- Support other adhoc IFRS9 related to forecasting ECL, macro variables amongst others.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- Good understanding and experience of IFRS9 processes, models and policy.
- Full stack business user experience, with SAS and/or Python.
- Experience with developing numerical optimisations using SAS/Python or other tools.
- Experience in developing secure applications in environments with significant data controls.
- Ability to read and understand algorithms and data manipulation procedures developed in SAS Base.
- Experience with testing, change implementation, data quality issue and mitigation.
- Ability to work and develop MI solutions like QlikSense or Tableau will be an advantage.
- Ability to work on projects with multiple work streams and deliverables.
