Responsibilities:
- Managing the workflow of AFOLU projects aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions in accordance with the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) and Climate Community Biodiversity (CCB) standards within the voluntary carbon market. This involves supervising the creation of scoping documents, conducting feasibility assessments, and preparing Project Descriptions (PD) and Monitoring Reports (MR).
- Set up and launch (or take over where already in flight) the project, working closely with key stakeholders across the departments and outside the organization. Set the milestones, project planning/roadmap, and KPI definitions complying with VCS Standards and Methodology. Establish the project execution structure and onboard project team members.
- Work closely with the workstream of various teams on the execution and monitoring of the project against milestones, KPIs, and (where appropriate) budget.
- Manage overall communication with all stakeholders (including C-level Managers/ Steering Committee/Shareholders).
- Follow updates on the carbon markets and relevant methodologies and standards to ensure compliance among the project development team and stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 6 years in policy, research, or project development in organizations across Sustainability or GHG emission reductions
- Extensive experience in project management;
- The ability to manage stakeholders at all levels;
- Effective communication and presentation skills;
- Robust organizational, time management, and prioritization skills;
- Analytical skills to address complex issues;
- Agile mindset
- Ability to self-manage and work independently
