Mechanical Engineer (Project Engineer)

Your future team:  

You will join a core team of Project Managers and Mechanical Engineers in Civil Section business unit. The team represents great diversity in nationalities, location, gender, and age. In addition to your colleagues in your competence area, you will be part of experienced project group in your day-to-day work. 

What you will be doing: 

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer who will take the Civil M (Mechanical) role to coordinate and manage mechanical design and construction activities in Civil M area in relation to the new investment projects in Rockwool Group. It’s his or her responsibility to represent Rockwool Group Technology in close coordination with multiple stakeholders and teams located in different countries. Analytical thinking, solid construction experience, and excellent communication skills will be essential for the Mechanical Engineer role described. The job location is in Rockwool Office in Poznań, Poland, though extensive travel within and outside Poland should be expected.

More specifically, your role will involve: 

• Ensuring that equipment within the factory with a demand for utilities are supplied where required, including main utility supply strategy, tank requirements and installations, pump supply, dimensioning, and redundancy (back-up supply) considerations
• Leading and executing design and construction activities within the scope area described below
• Responsibility for Civil M project scope related quality, budget, time schedule, certification, approvals, and health & safety checks
• Gathering requirements from process related equipment – in close cooperation with process engineers
• Supporting civil design consultants and all design-related activities, including permits in coordination with factory and process teams related to area of scope
• Supporting design specifications and tender documents within area of scope
• Managing main and sub-contractors within area of scope
• Providing input and follow-up time schedule for mechanical activities in accordance with Overall Project Master Plan
• Implementation of health & safety set-up and daily application through Site Safety Supervisor
• Coordination with Factory organization during design and site activities within area of scope
• On-site coordination with other responsible engineers
• Clear communication to core team and stakeholders 
• Proactiveness in all the responsibilities described above

• Compressed air
• Water
• Industrial water
• Machine cooling water (process related)
• Water – sanitary installations
• Potable water (drinking water)
• Water treatment (reverse osmosis plants)
• Fire water supply – living up to FLPM (Fire and Loss Preventive Manual – Rockwool Group obligatory policy) and local regulation where applicable
• Rain water collection, treatment and reuse (soil, surface, and ground water protection MMRs – Minimum Mandatory Requirement Rockwool Group policies)
• Erosion and Sedimentation – storm water management (coordination with entrepreneur)
• Drainage and sewage
• Oxygen and CO2
• Natural Gas
• Building heat (gas)
• Process equippemnt supply
• HVAC, (Heating, Ventilation, A/C)
• Firefighting – with use of oxygen suppression systems
• Cranes, hoists and other special parts

What you bring:  

• 5+ years of work experience
• Bachelor’s degree within Mechanical Engineering (Environmental Engineering or similar preferred)
• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or Project Management is preferred
• Written and spoken professional business English
• Project execution record in large scale projects is preferred
• Working experience with multinational teams and stakeholders is an asset                    
• Industrial project experience is preferred
• Familiarity with Prince 2 is preferred
• Driver license
• Polish supervision certificate is not required
