GL Accountant II (Fixed-Term Contract)

Join our GL Accounting Process Team!

The team supports accounting activities across multiple entities. These activities are consistent and can be handled centrally. Key tasks include preparing monthly accruals, reviewing P&L, and reconciling balance sheet accounts. We currently support Akamai's operations in nearly 30 countries. These include regions in the Americas, EMEA, and APJ.

In this position, you will mainly support our Cash management & Global accruals processes. You will also help lead the preparation and analysis of many complex accounting close areas.

This role is a fixed-term position for 13 months.

As an GL Accountant II, you will be responsible for:

• Preparing assigned month-end accrual estimates independently.
• Executing and supporting the global cash management process.
• Performing OPEX trend analysis and budget vs. actual variance analysis.
• Preparing balance sheet reconciliations.
• Ensuring close cooperation with other finance teams (Procurement, AP, AR, etc.) to support the month-end close process.
• Engaging in improvement initiatives alongside Accounting, Finance teams, and various other departmental collaborators.
• Following guidance of US GAAP, company policies and internal controls to ensure compliance.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have experience in general ledger accounting or other finance areas .
• Have knowledge in Accounting or Auditing or other Finance related areas.
• demonstrate excellent understanding of Excel (including Pivot Tables, logical functions, text functions, etc.).
• Possess analytical skills, attention to detail and willingness to solve problems when identified.
• Demonstrate the ability to work individually or with minimal supervision.
• Have fluency in spoken and written English.
• Be familiar with IFRS/US GAAP standards, hold PIBR/ACCA certificate or be in the process of obtaining one.
• Be a good team player, collaborate with people from across the business.
