For our Client, a leader in the automotive industry, we are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager.
Role & Responsibilities:
Manage and ensure the accuracy of all manufacturing engineering activities.
Identify, develop, and deploy new manufacturing methods (or refine existing ones) to improve quality, reduce cost, and optimize the build schedule.
Ensure discipline related technical processes, procedures, and best practices are defined, documented, and followed in daily engineering activities.
Ensure realistic project plans are developed and successfully executed within approved budget, scope, and quality goals.
Maintain departmental day-to-day manufacturing engineering activities; monitors and achieves KPI’s and prioritizes assignments, workflow and scheduling of those activities.
Provides manufacturing operations support daily.
Supervises the modification of production processes, and the assessment of manufacturing abilities.
Apply robust, consistent, and reliable engineering fundamentals and processes to ensure the highest quality of manufacturing.
Ensures all manufacturing instructions and procedures for new and existing products are accurate and complete.
Lead PFMEA studies to strengthen the feedback loop between design, build, and test.
Establishes and takes ownership of departmental master plan.
Works closely with the Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance Managers.
Resolves problems by evaluating solutions that involve new techniques, technologies, or concepts.
Confers with management, and production to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products.
Strong coaching skills to provide training and development for the organization.
Strong capability to be the bridge between product development and manufacturing teams.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s degree preferred) in Engineering or Engineering Management required
A minimum of 10 years' management experience managing direct reports and projects or programs in a multidisciplinary leadership role, preferably in automotive machining process engineering.
Experience in leading and managing a multi discipline team of 45+ manufacturing engineers to support high volume production.
Demonstrated ability in project management to be able to track the delivery and installation of equipment.
Must have the capability to make the difficult decisions.
Ability to manage multiple teams globally to deliver on a set timeline and escalate as required.
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Project Management methodology and associated project tracking.
Ability to operate, make decisions, lead and make forward progress in fast moving environments.
Proven experience and successful track record developing/starting new manufacturing processes and new product introductions.
Must be self-managing and proactive.
Must have the “Can Do” attitude
Excellent English verbal and written communications skills.
Excellent Interpersonal communication skills with expertise in communicating complicated topics to a broader audience
