Business Development Lead – Environmental Advisory & Compliance
Location: Warsaw, Poland
Role description:
This role combines responsibility for driving revenue growth and client acquisition with leadership and development of a team of consultants in Poland. The successful candidate will expand Arcadis's market presence and position us as a trusted advisor on environmental risk, compliance, and asset performance.
Role accountabilities:
Business Development & Market Growth
Seller-doer with clear responsibility for achieving sales targets in Environmental Advisory & Compliance.
Identify, originate, and convert business opportunities across key sectors.
Lead the full sales cycle: client engagement, proposal development, negotiation, and contract closure.
Build and maintain long-term client relationships, positioning Arcadis early in decision-making processes.
Develop and scale a portfolio of services, balancing compliance-driven and high-value advisory work.
Collaborate with European teams on cross-border opportunities.
Partner with bidding and marketing teams to prepare proposals, tenders, and sales materials.
Manage budget and Profit & Loss oversight for your area of responsibility.
Team Leadership & Capability Building
Lead and develop a team of consultants, aligning skills with market opportunities and growth priorities.
Structure and scale the team to meet increasing demand and support complex advisory engagements.
Foster a high-performance, client-focused culture emphasizing impact and value creation.
Coach team members to strengthen both technical expertise and commercial acumen.
Ensure consistent high quality in project delivery.
Qualifications & Experience:
Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Industrial Risk, Sustainability, or equivalent.
Senior experience in environmental or sustainability advisory, including business development and client leadership.
Proven ability to identify and develop advisory engagements from client need to contract closure.
·Experience in managing Profit & Loss responsibility is a strong advantage.
Experience working in international and multicultural environments is a plus.
Strategic vision and leadership in a growing advisory environment.
Strong advisory expertise with senior-level client exposure.
Ability to identify client needs, structure solutions, and convert them into consulting engagements.
Leadership focused on delivering value and business growth.
Negotiation skills and stakeholder management.
Knowledge of local environmental regulations and compliance procedures.
Fluent English and Polish (spoken and written).

The salary range for this position is 14'675 PLN - 22'008 PLN gross.
