YOUR DAY-TO-DAY WORK
As an Accountant you will take part in financial processes and conduct daily accounting operations for our European campuses (for the time being this will be Berlin and Rotterdam). Your work will mainly relate to transactional work including customer invoicing and collections, processing vendor invoices and payments, maintenance of accounts receivables/payables, bank reconciliations, general ledger management, handling vendor and customer inquiries and other responsibilities as needed.You will be safeguarding accounting policies and procedures, and cooperating with our global finance team.
Potential responsibilities will include:
Accounts Receivable
• Onboarding clients.
• Receiving payments.
• Following up on outstanding accounts.
• Reviewing account histories and billing inquiries with clients.
• Issuing invoices.
Accounts Payable
• Reviewing and entering bills.
• Process expense reimbursements.
• Processing timely payments while managing cash flow.
• Maintaining vendor files.
• Maintaining supporting documentation and classification of expenses.
General Ledger
• Preparing and posting journal entries.
• Reconciling daily bank statements and ensuring accuracy of all transactions.
• Preparing the monthly reconciliations.
• Assisting with the monthly closure.
• Assisting in any audits and tax filings, such as VAT filings.
• Maintaining the accounting manual and focusing on continuous process improvement.
• Ad-hoc projects.
ABOUT YOU
CIC seeks self-directed individuals for our international team, prioritizing a willingness to learn over immediate expertise. Experienced in recording transactions, posting debits and credits, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accuracy and completeness of data. Ideal candidates are adaptable to diverse environments, and bring fresh perspectives to their work.
YOU HAVE
• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2-3 years of proven experience in similar accounting or finance roles.
• Experience with mainstream accounting ERP systems.
• Willingness to travel.
• Good understanding of financial and accounting concepts.
• Ability to legally work in Poland. CIC is unable to sponsor visas for this role at this time.
• Fluency in English, and German. Experience working in finance and/or accounting in the Netherlands would be considered a plus.
• High interpersonal and communication skills.
