Finance Senior Analyst - Valuation Control

Team/Role Overview:

The Valuation Control Group (VCG) is an independent global group within Product Control responsible for reviewing and reporting fair value inventory and IPV across all asset classes.

VCG is organized along business lines and clients of the group include Business Heads, Line Product Control, Market Risk, Model Risk, Compliance, Legal Department, Middle Office, Internal Audit, external audit firms and the regulatory bodies in countries impacted by Citi’s footprint. VCG collaborates closely with its client base to ensure complete understanding of business valuation issues and accurate execution of valuation control policy.

The successful candidate will work the Non-Markets Valuation Control team and will be expected to have hands-on involvement to ensure the completeness, accuracy and integrity of the bank's books and records. Non-Markets covers Citi business units in Banking, Services, US Personal Banking, Wealth, and All Other (Corporate Treasury and Legacy Franchises).

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for working across Product Control, Risk and Operations and Business to perform IPV.
• Support review of valuation control related production, such as Independent Price Verification, Valuation Adjustments and Fair Value Hierarchy results.
• Work to ensure a high level of accuracy across all reported numbers, high quality of pertaining commentaries, and adequate legal entity focus.
• Acts as Subject Matter Expert (SME) to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
• Working as subject matter expert in all strategic initiatives related to Non-Markets processes i.e. Independent Price Verification, Valuation Adjustment automation, Fair Value hierarchy automation.
• Resolve complex problems/issues independently, where expertise is required to interpret policies, guidelines or processes.
• Relationship management and development across other peers within VCG to ensure consistency of processes and controls.
• Coordinate technology related initiatives for Non-Markets and ensure team awareness of the changes.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum 4-8 years of relevant professional experience.
• General understanding of securities and derivative valuation methodologies.
• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong analytical skills: High volume data analysis background would be a plus
• Quantitative background/experience would be a great asset
• Proficiency in any of these would be an advantage: VBA, SQL, Data management software, Python.
• Strong communication, influencing, presentation and leadership skills with experience of presenting to large audiences with multiple participants
• Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.

Education:

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in any finance, economics, or quantitative related subject.
