We’re seeking a mechanical engineer skilled in valve design and R&D to join Clone Robotics. You’ll develop fluid-driven systems for biomimetic robots, working in a hands-on lab environment. Please note that the job is 100% on-site from our office in Wrocław, Poland.
- Design and engineer precision valves (e.g., pinch, ball, gate, plug, pressure-regulating, flow control, hydraulic).
- Run fluid dynamics simulations (CFD) to optimize valve performance.
- Iterate designs using real-world experiments, measurements, and CFD results.
- Work with Electronics teams to integrate valves into ready-to-use systems.
- Create production-ready documentation, including technical drawings and 3D models.
- Source components and communicate with suppliers.
- Prototype and test design hands-on.
- Build testing rigs and prepare documentation for testing engineers.
-
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
-
3+ years of engineering experience, with expertise in valve design.
- Experience designing valves (e.g., pinch, ball, gate, plug).
- Proficient in CAD (Fusion 360 preferred).
- Skilled in fluid dynamics analysis (OpenFOAM, or similar).
- Experience with basic electronics, including calculating required power and torque, understanding differences between motor types (e.g., DC, stepper, servo), and selecting appropriate motors for specific applications.
- Hands-on prototyping and iterative design experience.
- Clear technical communication skills for reports and explaining systems.
-
Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Ability to build testing rigs and prepare documentation for testing engineers.
- Experience with hydraulic or pneumatic actuators in robotics.
- R&D experience in robotics, medtech, or biomimetic systems.
- Knowledge of mechanical production (e.g., molding, CNC, additive manufacturing).
- Familiarity with fluid system standards.
- Basic skills in Blender or Rhino.
-
Pay Range (B2B): 80-110 PLN/h netto on invoice (+VAT)
