About the Role:
As a Sales Engineer at Observe, you'll be the technical champion for our product, working closely with the C-Level to drive revenue growth and to create a sales strategy. You'll leverage your understanding of data platforms and AI to engage in meaningful technical conversations, qualify opportunities, develop compelling proposals, and build lasting customer relationships. This role requires a proactive individual with a passion for technology and a knack for connecting with people.
Responsibilities:
- Opportunity Qualification: Initially assess the technical and business viability of potential opportunities to determine fit and potential value.
- Requirement Analysis: Collaborate with potential customers and the CTO to deeply understand their technical requirements, business goals, and constraints.
- Technical Proposals and Quotes: Work with the CTO to craft detailed technical proposals, responses to RFPs, and cost estimates that clearly articulate how our product meets customer specifications.
- Product Demonstrations and POCs: Develop and deliver compelling product demonstrations and tailor proof-of-concept (POC) scenarios to showcase our solutions in customer-specific environments.
- Technical Advocacy: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers, addressing their questions, concerns, and building trust by demonstrating a deep understanding of their needs.
- Collaboration with Internal Teams:
- Provide valuable customer feedback and market intelligence to the CTO and product team to influence product roadmaps.
- Partner with marketing to create technical collateral (white papers, videos, datasheets) and support marketing events (trade shows, webinars).
- Customer Relationship Management (Long-term goal): Contribute to building and maintaining long-term customer relationships, shared with the C-Level.
- Documentation and Reporting: Meticulously log activities, opportunities, and next steps in our CRM system (PipeDrive).
- Strategic Planning and Forecasting: Collaborate with the C-Level on pipeline development, sales strategies, and revenue forecasting, highlighting any technical dependencies or risks.
- Networking and Events: Actively participate in industry events (like SNIP) and confidently present our products to potential customers.
- Online Presence: Maintain an active presence on LinkedIn and other relevant platforms (with potential for future automation).
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of data platforms and AI concepts.
- Proven ability to engage in technical conversations and explain complex topics clearly.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in a sales engineering or technical sales role is highly desirable.
- Preferable experience working with manufacturing clients.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Proactive and results-oriented with a strong work ethic.
- Experience with CRM systems is a plus.
- Active presence on LinkedIn and other professional networking platforms.
