Technical Lead – Database Services

Currently, for our client, we are looking for a hands-on Technical Lead to oversee and support our database environments. This mid-level role combines operational excellence with technical leadership, ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in database and server administration, while also collaborating with architecture and engineering teams to align infrastructure with business needs.

Project information:

• Location: Kraków

• Type of employment: B2B contract

• Remuneration: 160 - 180 PLN net + VAT per hour on B2B

• Project language: Polish and English

Your tasks:

• Act as the technical point of contact for global database and Windows Server services

• Lead complex troubleshooting and root cause analysis

• Coordinate SQL Server administration (2016/2019/2022), including performance tuning, backups, recovery, and high availability

• Oversee Windows Server services (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy) and virtualization (Hyper-V / VMware)

• Manage system updates, patching, configuration baselines, and documentation

• Drive automation and scripting initiatives (PowerShell)

• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations

• Collaborate with architecture, engineering, and cross-functional teams to align infrastructure with business needs

  
  

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of experience in database and Windows service management

• Strong knowledge of T-SQL, SSMS, and SQL Server Agent

• Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows networking

• Familiarity with backup tools (e.g. Veeam, native SQL backups)

• Understanding of ITIL processes and change management

• Strong communication and documentation skills
