How you will get the job done

  • developing and implementing the risk management processes for identifying, analysing, evaluating and reporting on the internal control system (ICS) at company and process level in international entities of ERGO Group
  • managing regular updates of risk and control assessments by the 1st Line of Defence, quality assurance of the results of the appropriateness and effectiveness analyses and monitoring of the implementation of measures to eliminate process and control weaknesses
  • consolidating assessments of operational risks and control measures in the ICS and preparation of meaningful risk reports as well as processing of ad-hoc enquiries
  • supporting the roll-out of the Group-wide ICS framework in the international units of the ERGO Group
  • performing the Group risk management function and supporting the foreign units in the implementation of risk management processes
  • training the specialist departments and local risk management functions in ICS methodology


Skills and experience you will need

  • fluent knowledge of English (B2/C1)
  • degree in Business Administration, Economics, Information Technology or a comparable degree program
  • professional experience in risk management (including IT risk management) of financial services companies or an audit/consulting firm with a focus on operational risks, ideally combined with knowledge of insurance and reinsurance
  • relevant professional experience in the implementation of ICS requirements, in particular in the identification and assessment of operational risks and controls paired with a strong understanding of business processes.
  • experience in the implementation and roll-out of regulatory requirements in an international group and, in this context, experience in project management and strong communication skills and a confident manner with stakeholders at all hierarchical levels
  • ability to understand and critically scrutinize complex issues and to prepare and present results and (own) conclusions in a manner appropriate to the target audience
  • social skills and strong team spirit coupled with a high level of commitment, independent working style and willingness to travel


Nice to have

  • knowledge of German language
  • background in insurance and reinsurance industry
  • familiarity with GRC tools (e.g. RSA Archer) and business process management tools (e.g. ADONIS) is an advantage
  • knowledge of COSO and COBID frameworks
