About the role:
As an Employee Technology Experience Engineer you’ll be focused on the design, construction, testing, implementation and optimization of desktop configurations and mobility devices for the GTS end user.
In this role you will:
- Create and maintain standard end-user configurations and assist with the creation of automated software packages to ensure the enterprise PC desktop systems and mobility devices can be supported and patched.
- Perform administration of software distribution, application and security patch management, end point security, remote support and other enterprise PC desktop / mobility devices management, monitoring and troubleshooting utilities.
- Assist with documenting and maintaining standard configurations that support organizational security policies.
- Create technical documentation as required.
- Maintain current knowledge of solutions available to perform software distribution, inventory, monitoring, updates, and ongoing maintenance for the organizations client system environment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve client hardware and software related issues in coordination with other members of the GTS groups and users.
- Develop reports that provide insight and analysis of software license usage, software and hardware compliance, operating systems and hosted application software distribution.
- Prepare, test and release software application and security updates to production.
- Support End User Services Technician in troubleshooting and issue resolution.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Analyze problems and recommend hardware and software solutions as needed to address an issue or to support projects and Teradata initiatives.
- Seek appropriate authority and approval for purchases.
- Maintain the control and process environment for the organizations gold standard operating system image library ensuring client configuration integrity, controlled access, and incremental versioning.
- Support the client system testing environment for evaluating hardware, operating systems, hosted applications, service packs and patches, security configurations and image deployment.
- Schedule and report on the execution of the testing and validation effort as part of a formal release management process.
- Build the service reference architecture mappings of the legacy, standard and future state of the end user PC desktop and mobility portfolio.
Our requirements:
- 3+ years End User Engineering Experience.
- Preferred: 5+ years’ experience in End User Support.
- Bachelor's in Information Technology or related field.
- Windows OS installation, configuration, and troubleshooting (Windows 10, 11).
- Mac OS and Windows (advanced/expert support level preferred).
- Active Directory user and computer management.
- Group Policy understanding and basic troubleshooting.
- Basic networking (IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
- Patch management and endpoint security basics (anti-virus, encryption, updates).
- Software deployment (SCCM, Intune, or alternatives).
- Data privacy and handling policies (GDPR, local policies awareness).
- Disk encryption technologies (BitLocker, FileVault basics).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (end-user facing role).
- Incident and service request management
- Documentation and knowledge base contribution.
- Mobile device management (Android, iOS — Intune etc.)
- PowerShell scripting for automation.
- Experience with virtual environments (AVD, Hyper-V basics).
