Position Overview:

As a QA Engineer at Playbook Engineering, you will be an integral part of the team, ensuring the highest quality standards for our products. You will collaborate closely with delivery teams, design, and support teams to create and maintain robust testing frameworks, perform thorough testing, and ensure that all products meet the highest standards before release. This role will involve a mix of test automation, exploratory testing, and CI/CD integration to ensure our web applications and services are reliable, user-friendly, and performant.

Key Responsibilities:

• Quality Assurance: Ensure high-quality standards for products by integrating QA practices from the project's inception to delivery.
• Collaboration: Work closely within delivery teams and with design and support teams to align QA processes with project goals.
• Test Automation: Create and maintain automated tests to streamline the testing process and improve product reliability.
• Documentation: Review business documentation and create detailed test cases and test plans.
• User Experience Advisory: Provide insights and advice on user experience to optimize the interaction design of web applications.
• Exploratory Testing: Conduct thorough exploratory testing to proactively identify and address potential issues.
• QA Process: Contribute to QA processes across product lifecycles, ensuring compliance with best practices.
• Web Technologies: Work primarily on web frontend and backend projects, including web applications and REST APIs.
• Technical Tools: Utilize TypeScript for test scripting and tools like Playwright or Cypress for testing frameworks.
• API Testing: Use API testing tools to ensure the robustness of web services and interfaces.
• CI/CD Integration: Integrate and utilize CI/CD tools for continuous testing and deployment processes.
• Microservices Testing: Test microservices architecture to ensure system resilience and optimal performance.
• Communication and Organization: Exhibit strong communication skills to interact effectively with various internal teams and organize testing schedules and priorities.
• Independent Work Ethic: Operate independently with limited supervision, showing initiative and decision-making in daily tasks.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience in quality assurance.
• Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in quality assurance, with a focus on automated testing, web technologies, and CI/CD integration.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong expertise in test automation tools such as Playwright or Cypress, with a solid understanding of web technologies and REST APIs.
• API and Microservices Testing: Proven experience in testing APIs and microservices, ensuring system reliability and performance.
• Analytical Skills Strong problem-solving abilities, with experience in exploratory testing and identifying potential issues early in the development cycle.
• Collaboration Skills: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams to align QA processes with product goals.
• Independent and Organized: Ability to work independently with limited supervision, demonstrating strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience in load/performance testing, preferably using tools like k6 or JMeter.
• Experience in creating automated tests for mobile applications using Appium.
