Technical Accountant

Role Description

• Prepare & post journals to the Oracle General Ledger on a monthly/quarterly basis

• Prepare Balance sheet reconciliations for all general ledger accounts on a monthly/quarterly basis

• Implementation and oversight of an Financial Controls Framework to ensure the accuracy, completeness and consistency

• Oversight and monitoring of Fund Accounting (external service provider) and transactions related to investment accounting

• Liaise with and build strong working relationship with PIA Reporting, Actuary, Investment, M&G and PAC
  

Skill Requirements

• Qualified Accountant with experience of working in an Operational Finance role in an Insurance\Reinsurance Company or Financial Institution

• Detailed understanding of Accounting transactions

• Experience in working with multi-currency ledgers

• Extensive experience of preparing and posting journals, producing trial balances and completing detailed balance sheet reconciliations for all general ledger accounts

• Experience of implementing, and overseeing, a Financial Controls Framework to ensure the accuracy, completeness and consistency

• Ability to prioritise workload, work under pressure and tight reporting deadlines.

• Working with a range of internal and external stakeholders is a plus

• Working with third party providers is a plus

• Working in fund administration or investment accounting is a plus

• Working in Oracle & Smartview, SQL, Business Objects is a plus

• Excellent analytical skills and advanced excel knowledge

• Good communicator (up & down)
