Job Description
As a Senior Traffic Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the allocation and distribution of tasks within our project and resource management systems. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that incoming projects are appropriately assigned to the right team members based on their skills, availability, and workload. Further responsibilities are reporting from an overarching perspective on capacity. This role requires a meticulous attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and effective prioritization abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Allocation:
- Review incoming projects and assess their requirements.
- Determine the appropriate team members to handle each project based on their expertise and availability; ensuring clear ownership and accountability for each project.
- Allocate projects to team members within JIRA and resource management tool, ensuring clear ownership and accountability.
- Support Junior Traffic Manager with job allocation when required.
2. Prioritization:
- Collaborate with project managers and team leads to prioritize incoming projects based on urgency, impact, and strategic importance.
- Ensure that high-priority projects are promptly assigned and addressed, while maintaining a balanced workload for team members.
- Adjusting project allocation based on specialists' daily availability.
- Lead any prioritization process initiatives
3. Monitoring, Reporting and Tracking:
- Regularly monitor the status of assigned projects to ensure timely progress.
- Identify bottlenecks or delays in project resolution and take proactive measures to address them.
- Keep stakeholders informed about the status of their projects and any potential issues impacting delivery timelines.
- Keeping track of the team's capacity and adjusting priorities as needed to meet changing demands and deadlines (based on inputs provided by PM/Project Director).
- Utilize data and analytics to monitor resource utilization, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Prepare and present regular reports on resource status, utilization, and forecast to senior management.
4. Resource Management:
- Maintain an overview of team members' availability and workload.
- Assigning individuals to projects based on availability to ensure balanced work distribution without overloading any single team member.
- Optimize resource allocation to maximize efficiency and minimize idle time.
- Coordinate with team leads and managers to reallocate resources as needed to meet changing demands.
5. Process Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate and refine project allocation processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Implement best practices and standardized procedures to streamline project management.
- Continuously evaluate and improve resource management tools, systems, and processes.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in traffic management or a similar role, preferably in an Agile environment.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale projects and leading cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in JIRA or similar project management tools.
- Proficiency in resource management tools e.g. Float, Toggl
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and communicate complex information clearly.
- Analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
