Opis stanowiska

As a Senior / Lead Automation Engineer, you will work on automation and control system solutions for subsea production control systems. You will be involved in system engineering, PLC/SCADA development, technical documentation, testing, troubleshooting and project delivery, ensuring compliance with client, industry and regulatory requirements.

Depending on your experience level, you may also take technical ownership, mentor engineers and support improvements in engineering processes, software quality and product development activities.

To be considered for this role, you must meet at least one of the following four criteria:

  • experience with Oil & Gas subsea production control systems (offshore or subsea environment),

  • hands-on experience with Beckhoff TwinCAT (CodeSys-based environment is also acceptable),

  • practical experience with Ignition SCADA — design, development and deployment,

  • a proven track record of leading and delivering complex automation software projects end-to-end, covering the full software development lifecycle — from requirements through design, implementation, testing and handover.

Additionally, the following will strengthen your application:

  • experience with PLC and HMI/SCADA technologies, such as Siemens, ABB, Schneider or Rockwell,

  • experience with industrial communication protocols, such as Modbus TCP, OPC UA, Ethernet/IP, CAN or OPC,

  • good understanding of software development methodologies, object-oriented design, source control and code quality,

  • experience preparing and reviewing requirements, design specifications, interface specifications, test requirements and technical documentation,

  • knowledge of subsea control modules, EPU, MCS, hydraulic/electrical distribution systems or similar control system architecture,

  • strong troubleshooting, communication and delivery skills, including system-level debugging, report writing, stakeholder cooperation and ability to work with global teams,

  • a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automation, Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent practical experience,

  • ability to travel to and work at client or company sites as required.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • engineering, integrating and delivering subsea production control system solutions, covering hardware, software, PLC/SCADA, HMI, industrial communication and system integration activities,

  • developing, maintaining and troubleshooting PLC and SCADA applications, including creating functions from scratch, using source control and maintaining code quality through engineering best practices,

  • preparing and reviewing key technical deliverables, including System FDS, software requirements, software design documents, system architecture, control narratives, interface specifications, project/design requirements and test procedures,

  • ensuring engineering delivery in line with contract specifications, client expectations, local regulatory requirements and industry standards, such as API 17F, IEC and ISO,

  • supporting system testing, troubleshooting, optimisation and standardisation of automation solutions across projects,

  • participating in design reviews, risk assessments, innovation workshops and technical reviews to improve quality, safety, efficiency and product differentiation,

  • contributing where relevant to NPI and R&D activities, including evaluation of emerging technologies, prototyping, product qualification, field trials and use of analytical tools to support product or offering development,

  • working with global and cross-functional teams, providing technical input to project plans, reporting progress and travelling to company or client sites when required.

In the Lead role, we would also expect you to:

  • take ownership of selected control system engineering deliverables and software project execution,

  • provide technical direction, mentor engineers and support knowledge sharing across the team,

  • influence design decisions and ensure cross-project standardisation of engineering solutions,

  • drive improvements in design quality, documentation, engineering processes, software development practices, code quality and resource optimisation.
