Water Quality Engineer (Environmental Analysis)

The Sweco Design Center Poland operates as an internal design center within the Sweco Group. It specializes in providing expert services in planning, engineering, architecture, and design across diverse sectors, including infrastructure, transportation, urban planning, construction, energy, manufacturing, and IT systems. The Design Center currently collaborates with three countries: Sweden, Norway and Denmark.
Responsibilities:
Perform dilution calculations and recipient impact assessments related to discharge to aquatic and surface water environments;
Conduct environmental risk assessments and evaluate contaminant fate, transport, and sediment-water interaction in aquatic environments;
Interpret laboratory analytical data and environmental monitoring results from wastewater, surface water, sediment, and leachate;
Review environmental monitoring programs and sampling strategies;
Prepare technical reports, environmental assessments, and support environmental permitting and compliance activities;
Collaborate with multidisciplinary environmental specialists and engineers on environmental and regulatory projects.
What type of projects will you work with:
Projects related to surface water and recipient assessments, environmental risk and compliance assessments, water quality and contaminant transport, PFAS and emerging contaminants, environmental monitoring programs, and landfill/leachate-related environmental projects.
Our requirements:
Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Hydrogeology, Civil Engineering;
5+ years of professional background within aquatic environments, surface water environments, recipient assessments, environmental chemistry, and environmental assessment;
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, GIS software (QGIS or ArcGIS) and environmental data analysis/reporting tools;
Experience with dilution calculations, environmental risk assessments, contaminant transport, and interpretation of laboratory analytical data and monitoring results;
Knowledge of environmental monitoring programs, sampling strategies, environmental legislation, and environmental quality standards;
Very good communication skills in English (written and spoken).
