Chief Specialist - Knowledge Transfer Broker
In the project:
FENG.02.01-IP.05-M038/25, TREAT-EXP: Development of therapeutic strategies for human genetic diseases caused by nucleotide repeat expansion.
The FENG.02.01-IP.05-M038/25 project is carried out under Measure 2.1 MAB FENG, call 2/2025 of the Foundation for Polish Science, co-financed by the European Union from the funds of Priority 2 of the European Funds for Modern Economy 2021-2027 Programme (FENG).
Place of work: TREAT-EXP Gene Therapy Development Center in the building of the Center for Advanced Technologies of Adam Mickiewicz University
Half-time position: 20 hours per week

Scope of duties:
Commercialization of research results obtained within the project, i.e. continuous market research preparation of the most appropriate strategy for transferring project results, ensuring the proper implementation of the commercialization strategy for research results at the TREAT-EXP Center, with particular emphasis on the protecting developed intellectual property.
Collaboration with the technology transfer unit (UCITT), the business sector and the patent attorney.
Maintaining the register of conflict of interests.
Preparation of FTO and market analyses.
Establishing cooperation with industrial partners, preparing technology packages and coordinating negotiations on behalf of the Centre.
Ongoing contact with the foreign partner unit.
Requirements:
Higher education in biological, medical, chemical, biotechnology or related sciences.
Additional qualifications/completed training, courses in intellectual property law and/or intellectual property licensing.
Minimum 5 years of experience in technology transfer, commercialization or intellectual property management, preferably in academic or research institutions.
Proven experience in:
managing a portfolio of research projects and technologies at various stages of development,
preparing and supervising patent applications,
technology licensing, negotiating financial and legal conditions,
commercialization of research results through licensing or creation of spin-off companies,
cooperation with industry, investors and research financing institutions.
Experience in working in an international environment.
Experience in training, mentoring and supporting employees in the areas of IP, negotiations and best practices in technology transfer.
Experience in evaluating projects with implementation potential.
Proficient knowledge of intellectual property issues, including patents, know-how, licenses, and copyrights.
Advanced negotiation skills, including negotiating financial, equity and legal terms.
Ability to analyze the market and business potential of technologies.
Experience in preparing and negotiating licensing agreements, including investment agreements, is desirable.
Ability to conduct IP audits and build commercialization strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including collaboration with scientists, lawyers, investors and industrial partners.
Ability to work strategically and implement institutional policies and procedures.
Fluency in spoken and written English.
