The Warsaw office was established in 2008 and comprises two business lines: a dynamically growing International Operations Centre (SSC) providing asset and fund services for a number of locations across Europe and local custody & clearing business offering broker-dealers, global custodians and investment banks a full local clearing, settlement and custody solution in Poland.
For our Securities Services business line which is an exciting, dynamic and growing operation center in Warsaw we are looking for candidates who are willing to be a vital part of the expansion in BNP Paribas’ operational scope in Poland.
The Team Leader will take full ownership of defined area of responsibility and works autonomously with the team on 2nd line of defense activities. The Team Leader is the main point of contact for team members when it comes to knowledge and best practices sharing, coaching team how to investigate issues deeply.
Main Responsibilities:
- Leading a local Risk team
- Ensuring that the components of the operational risk management framework are implemented and effective within Warsaw IOC and Developing growth Markets
- Acting as 2nd line of defense and working closely with RISK ORM central teams (Norms and Reporting, Client Delivery & MFS, ICT, Client development & client lines and the corporate functions) and with Securities Services Poland and Developing growth Markets (Greece and Hungary) managers
- Acting as local Single Point of Contact on all operational risk matters towards the local senior management
- Acting as an escalation point for all operational risk matters delivered by the risk team under her/his remit
- Challenging and supervision of the operational risk management framework of Securities Services activities - Organizational framework and governance for Operational Risk Management & Permanent Control Framework
- Collaborating with RISK ORM Management of Beneficiary Locations
- Actively contribute to the local operational risk strategy and local governance bodies
- Identification and assessment of risks and controls
- Performing verifications
- Managing historical incidents (His) and proposing recommendations
- Promote awareness of operational risk management across IOC and RISK Community
- Coordination of all daily topics related to team management incl. task planning, prioritization, progress monitoring, reporting
- Ensuring regular staff meetings, including feedback sessions to staff, twice-yearly appraisals, career development within a team and regular team meetings
Qualifications (Background & Requirements):

Fluent English
- 8 years of professional work experience including experience in managing a team with effective delegation of tasks and experience in Operational Risk Department
- Strong knowledge of Securities Services products and processes
- Strong knowledge of main regulatory requirements
- Knowledge of Operational Risk management with successful execution of OR duties as well as experience in coaching team members and best practice sharing
- Independency and maturity in risk advisory area
- Innovative mindset and proactive approach including ability to identify, recommend and implement improvements to existing processes
- Strong analytical & problem solving skills, strategic thinking
- Good time management and strong interpersonal skills (communication, planning, negotiation, influencing, challenging skills)
- Supervisory and leadership skills including ability to delegate and to gain the commitment among team members
