Division:

You will be joining the Quality Control Assurance Team in Krakow. We function as an internal control unit within Euroclear Bank. We interact with different stakeholders in EB, as well as with risk management and internal audit (second and third line of defence).

Our mission is to provide an independent insight on the robustness of Euroclear Bank’s internal control environment. Within the first line of defence and as a trusted partner to the business, we:

  • bring a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of EB’s control activities;
  • provide advice and expertise to help maturing the control environment and identifying control gaps;
  • support the delivery of positive assurance reports to EB management.

To achieve this mission, we operate as a transversal team, supporting all operational and banking departments in Euroclear Bank. We are active in 3 locations: Brussels, Krakow and Hong Kong.

Role:

As Risk & Control Assurance Specialist, you will provide an independent assessment of the design and operating effectiveness of the controls performed by the business teams, working closely with the Risk and Control advisor for your area. Concretely, you will:

  • perform monthly testing on critical controls through quality checks, sit-ins, checking control reports and other audit techniques;
  • discuss the testing results with business counterparty;
  • prepare the monthly reporting to EB management;
  • based on your test results, draft conclusions on the effectiveness of the controls and discuss them with the Risk & Control advisor;
  • support the business in the action plan to reinforce their control environment to ensure it evolves dynamically and that target dates are met;
  • support other assignments and ad-hoc activities in the team.


Qualifications:

  • experience in control/risk function, preferably internal control unit or internal audit.
  • strong risk and control mindset;
  • strong analytical skills and attention to details;
  • good reporting and communication skills;
  • autonomy in your work but with a clear team-playing attitude;
  • ability to build fact-based conclusions and pass clear messages
  • adapt quickly towards changes and evolving priorities
