We are seeking a dynamic professional to fill the role of Joint Venture Accounting Manager overseeing JV accounting General Ledger and Reporting activities. This position will play a crucial role in managing and supporting the Krakow GBS JV team and reporting to Corporate Accounting.


Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and reviewing SEC JV financial statement footnote to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements and staying updated on changes in SEC regulations and adapting reporting pertaining to joint ventures.
  • Manage 1-4 direct reports, including team leaders responsible for overseeing various GL processes.
  • Oversee the ongoing development of accounting-related processes, improvements, and policies, collaborating with cross-functional teams to standardize and enhance efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other regulatory requirements for all entities and processes in scope.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in the area of general accounting and overall process for Joint Ventures related areas.
  • Lead the preparation and review of balance sheet account reconciliations, identifying and recording adjusting entries in a timely manner.
  • Manage the month-end close process, including the preparation and review of journals, and other related procedures such as flux analysis.
  • Provide information to management through research, report preparation, presentations, and communication of findings and recommendations.
  • Perform technical accounting analysis and research to ensure proper accounting for unusual or complex transactions.
  • Act as a strategic partner for the migration of work to GBS centers, participating in transitions and driving process stabilization efforts within the assigned scope.
  • Establish highly collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across various departments.
  • Recommend process enhancements to improve efficiency and quality of the accounting function.
  • Provide documentation and prepare schedules to support both internal and external SOX and financial audits.
  • Lead, motivate, and coach the team to deliver excellent results, supporting employee engagement, professional development, and retention.
  • Actively engage and participate in Jacob’s initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or necessary


Here's what you'll need

Qualifications:

  • At least 7-10 years of experience in a general ledger/finance/accounting role, including several years of people management experience.
  • Accounting certification CPA/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent).
  • Ability to demonstrate strong technical knowledge and understanding of US GAAP/IFRS/ Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and controls
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize workloads, multi-task, and meet required deadlines.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and external auditors
  • Ability to build positive working relationships and effectively work with all levels of an organization and diverse global cultures.
  • Strong leadership skills in motivating and developing subordinates.
