Chief Accountant

About Our Client

Our esteemed client is seeking a highly professional and experienced Chief Accountant and Team Leader to head their Accounting team, located in the dynamic business district of downtown Gdańsk. The selected candidate will be entrusted with the responsibility of managing the accounting and tax reporting for their Polish entities, and offering specialized accounting services for their overseas entities.

Job Description

• Accounting in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and group requirements
• Supervising that company accounting policies and procedures fulfilled
• Timely preparation of tax declarations (VAT, CIT. PIT), financial statements and internal reports
• Cooperation with auditors, financial institutions and stakeholders
• Organizing team work efficiently and effectively
• Leading, coaching and developing the team and providing opportunities to build capabilities
• Reviewing and improving service quality and team performance
• Coordinating and communicating effectively between various counterparties and customers
• Proposing improvements in the team's daily work and identifying system development opportunities

The Successful Applicant

• Higher education and deep, practical knowledge of accounting standards and Polish tax rules
• Solid experience (minimum 5 years) in the accounting environment (accounting, taxes, statutory reporting, group consolidation)
• Fundamental understanding of finance processes and experience in finance systems
• Proven leadership skills and experience
• Positive mindset with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Good command of spoken and written English
• Shared Services experience is seen as an asset
• Possibility for occasional travelling
