Planet’s Product & Technology team have a world class vision for pushing product innovation which helps reinforce Planet’s position as a revenue generating payments partner across the Retail, Hospitality, Food & Beverage and Parking verticals.

The newly formed Digital Workplace team is driving modernisation of the core Workplace services supporting our global colleagues to serve our customers efficiently. We are implementing latest technologies using modern design, integrations, and delivery practices. Our teams excel at being on the forefront of transforming the connected commerce industry.


What you will do:


  • Deliver a customer-first service driven mindset, working with our Service Delivery team to understand the experience and needs of our internal customers, ensuring service delivery is aligned with excellence in customer experience, prioritising desired and agreed stakeholders’ requirements.
  • Ensure Digital Workplace operations deliver simple and effective solutions for end-users.
  • Global provision of workplace technology and Service Desk services for Planet. This includes projects and enhancements undertaken in this area to reinforce outstanding service delivery to customers.
  • Financial and budgetary accountability for the function.
  • Ensuring that the Digital Workplace function integrates with Planet IT functions to ensure a seamless IT experience and capability is delivered to end users, directors, and the Planet family. This includes ensuring a proactive governance framework is set up and run by the service management function in Digital Workplace and ensuring it is integrated within IT and wider Planet.
  • Ensuring security is central to service delivery, not an afterthought.

Who you are:


  • BA/BS degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • Over 10 years relevant experience in leading service delivery of a 24x7 global capability in a large corporate organisation including significant End User Compute/Digital Workplace Services functions.
  • Strong supplier management experience involving the large/global service integrators, outsourcers, and technology organisations.
  • Experience of operating with a strong security and service resiliency focus.
  • Experience in designing and establishing service delivery capabilities including those requiring supplier or multi-supplier service provision.
  • Strong demonstratable experience in IT and digital transformation and particularly in developing and executing service roadmaps that shaped and delivered new capabilities and services.
  • Expertise in financial management and controls including setting and managing budgets.
  • A person with genuine passion for exceptional customer service. This means having the ability to go beyond SLAs and KPIs and leading a service that puts a customer first and strives to deliver an excellent and leading experience.
  • Operates with authority and integrity. Able to lead in a crisis management situation such as BC/DR events or major incidents. Be seen as a leader in IT and seen as a valuable contact point by business directors.
  • Deep experience of key service management, operations, security, technology and project standards, methodologies, and best practices such as ITILv3/4, Agile, ISO/IEC 27001.
  • Stakeholder Management, ensuring relevant stakeholders are kept informed of onboarding activities and building relationships with key IT stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstratable experience of cross functional working.
