- 1st and 2nd level of internal user support for employees in Poland and other countries in Eastern Europe as a member of EMEA End user computing team. Overview of all IT equipment and services based on local business demands, and aligning them with corporate policy and procedures, making sure any business need or request is properly addressed. Participation in IT based projects focused on removal of technical debt and implementation of new technologies to provide better services. Providing hardware and software maintenance, training and consultation, and recommendations regarding future improvements and development based on the business needs.
What kind of work will you be doing?
- Providing timely IT support for Vertiv Employees
- Troubleshooting issues and proactive approach in prevention of possible technical problems
- Tracking of work and user requests through global ticketing system
- Procurement of IT equipment, software, and services (defining specifications, requesting quotes, making of approval documentation, and communicating order and purchase with procurement and finance offices)
- Co-operation with Global IT teams regarding various projects, requests, and problems
- Strict conduction of corporate security and data retention policies
- Administration of antivirus protection, surveillance of client computers and server systems
- Implementation of hard-drive encryption on corporate laptops
- On call via mobile phone for any network outages, first response and communicating the issues with global networking team.
- Being familiar with hardware and software used by local business
- Consulting employees and new employees about potential uses of existing technology
- Preparation of new IT equipment, software, and workstations
- Installation of security updates and dependencies
- Connecting and set up of hardware at work desks
- Administration of user network accounts and passwords as required
- Supervision and maintenance of network rooms
- Identification and preparation of hardware for disposal
- Organization of repairs with authorized service partners
- Defining and making recommendations regarding IT equipment needs according to the business requests
- Performs any other tasks given by the direct Manger or by the management, in connection with the responsibilities of the position and compliance with the law.
What Would Be the Perfect Qualifications?
- Technical skills:
- Excellent knowledge of windows operating system.
- Good knowledge of network technology and protocols.
- Troubleshooting of hardware and software problems.
- Active user of MS Office incl. Excel (A), Word (A), PowerPoint (A)
- Not mandatory but welcome: Microsoft, Cisco, ITIL or similar certification
- Practical skills: Good analytical skills, Assessment skills, Organizational skills
- Core competencies: good communication skills Initiative, Creative, Persuasive, Able to deal with conflict, Problem solving, Detail oriented, Analytical.
- 1 – 2 years of experience required to do a satisfactory job.
- Bachelor´s degree in Information science/computer science/MIS
- Active English
