Appfire is looking for a Director of Product Management who embodies systems thinking and approaches business challenges with a holistic view. This role is ideal for a strategic leader who thrives on understanding and optimising interconnected systems within a business, while also being unafraid to engage hands-on when necessary. The ideal candidate will prioritise long-term, sustainable solutions over quick tactical fixes, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. You will report to the Vice President of Growth and be a member of the Product Management & Growth organisation at Appfire.
This is a fully remote position from Poland.
Your everyday tasks will include:
-
Systems Thinking: Develop and implement product strategies that address business challenges through comprehensive systems and processes, ensuring all parts of the business are considered and optimised.
-
Strategic Product Management: Define the product vision and roadmap with a focus on long-term goals, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives.
-
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with teams across the organisation, including engineering, operations, and customer support, to create solutions that address root causes rather than symptoms.
-
Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of product managers, encouraging a culture of deep thinking and problem-solving.
-
Hands-On Engagement: While maintaining a high-level strategic focus, be willing to roll up your sleeves to dive into specific problems, offering both leadership and practical solutions.
-
Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage data and analytics to inform product decisions, ensuring they are backed by comprehensive analysis and insight.
-
Continuous Improvement: Foster an environment of continuous learning and improvement, encouraging innovation and the adoption of best practices across the product lifecycle.
Skills and experience you'll need to succeed:
-
Experience: Proven strong and solid hands-on experience in product management, with a significant portion in a leadership role. Demonstrated experience in applying systems thinking to complex business challenges.
-
Strategic Vision: Proven ability to develop and execute product strategies that align with long-term business objectives.
-
Leadership Skills: Experience leading cross-functional teams and mentoring product managers, with a focus on developing strategic and systems-oriented thinking.
-
Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of the technical aspects of product development, with the ability to engage with engineering teams at a deep level.
-
Problem-Solving: A track record of solving complex business problems through innovative and sustainable systems, rather than short-term tactics.
-
Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
-
Hands-On Approach: Willingness to dive into details and work hands-on when needed to drive product success.
-
Nice to have: Experience in PPM software is a plus.
